Commitment to the Travel Agency Community

Since the founding of International Lodging Corporation in 1983, we have always maintained our commitment to the travel agency community. Long before the internet, when overseas communication was conducted by telex, we sought to provide an easy method of reserving quality hotels in Spain and ensuring that your hard-earned commission would be paid promptly, and in US Dollars.

Our staff is well trained and knowledgeable about Spain and can assist you in putting together a trip that meets your client's needs. From designing the right itinerary to selecting the right hotel, we are here to help with making your job an easier one.

The lessons learned from our more than 20 years of experience have gone into building a website that will become a valuable tool for you. We have put a variety of information about Spain and our hotels at your fingertips, including Travel Tips, City Information, Suggested Itineraries, and detailed hotel information (with pictures). These tools are provided to help you build the perfect trip for your client.

We carefully select the hotels we represent to ensure that they offer you and your clients a range of values, without compromising on quality. Our long-standing relationships with hotels ensure that your clients will receive the proper care during their stay. We also make sure that the hotels are "travel agent friendly" and honor their commitment to the processing and paying of commissions promptly, so that we can pay your commissions promptly. If you book a hotel reservation through us and your client stays at the hotel, we can assure you that you will receive your commission.

You can find our hotels listed in numerous travel industry publications, such as the Official Hotel Guide (OHG), Hotel & Travel Index (HTI) and the Star Service. We are proud to be listed with the Tourist Offices of Spain located throughout the United States and Canada, and also the Spanish Consulates. We were honored in 1994 by ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents), which selected eight of ILC's hotels and suite hotels as official Pre & Post Tour properties for the 1994 Lisbon World Travel Congress.

ILC has been mentioned in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Star-Ledger, Travel & Leisure Magazine, Travel World News, Recommend Magazine, Travel Weekly Magazine, Smart Money Magazine, Family Travel Times, the Wall Street Journal, and on Arthur Frommer's radio show.

In the travel book "Guide to Vacation Rentals in Europe" by Michael and Laura Murphy, the authors write, "This company [ILC] is a well-managed company that knows its specialty: Spain." International Lodging has also been listed in Birnbaum's Spain, Fodor's Spain, and Frommer's Spain.

Commission Policy

ILC pays commissions to travel agents on all hotel reservations and property rentals. Commission amounts vary, but are generally 8% - 10% on hotels, and 10% on property rentals. Commission is issued by us and paid in US Dollars by check, after the client's departure (approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the last day of the month in which the client traveled). You never have to make an international call or speak a foreign language, since any question regarding a pending commission is directed to us and not the hotel. If you book reservations at more than one hotel you will receive one consolidated check for the entire booking.

Remember, making a reservation through us is easy; no prepayment is required. All the hotel requires is a credit card for guarantee and the client pays the hotel when they check out. It's that simple.

Travel Agent ID

A valid IATA, TSI, or CLIA number is required in order to receive a commission. An in-house IATA can be requested if you do not have an IATA, TSI, or CLIA number, and is subject to our approval process. In-house IATAs will only be granted to travel agents located in the United States or Canada. Commission checks are always made payable to the travel agency, and never to an individual.
